FREIGHT DAMAGE POLICY:
As some of us know much too well, it is difficult to find a reliable shipping company to transfer furniture across North America undamaged 100 % of the time. The companies we are currently working with have proven to be the most successful ones we have tried. Unfortunately, they too have busy terminals and deadlines to meet. As a result, our furniture isn't always "handled with care".
Our furniture is packed only in new materials - foam, cardboard and plastic, and it should be completely free of dirt, dints, scratches, punctures, rub marks, etc. The most common point for damage is on the bottom corners of the piece. Here it is important to check that the packaging is intact, clean and free of damage. No portion of the furniture should be visible.
It is because of this we have developed the Damage Claim Form.
The Damage Claim form is our way of taking the burden of shipping damage off of you. We will help you find a repair company, file the claim with the shipping company and get them to pay for the repairs. But (there is always a but...) we can't do it alone. We need as much information as you can provide and we need the information within 48 hours of receipt of the goods (there are strict time limits on filing a shipping claim).
Here is what we need you to do when you receive the goods:
1) Unpack the furniture in front of the shipping company representative.
2) Mark all damage on the shipping papers before the truck leaves your building
3) Photograph the damage and follow the other instructions outlined on the Damage Claim Form.
After 48 hours we can no longer file a damage claim with the shipping company so the costs will unfortunately be your responsibility. We will still offer much assistance in the repair process but the financial burden will be your responsibility if this strict process is not followed.
This process is very important to help us all keep costs down. If indicated properly on the shipping bills, the shipping company will reimburse you for the cost of the repairs. Otherwise, they won't. We have not built shipping damage costs into the price of our furniture (and don't want to!) so we need to make sure that the company who damage the furniture pay for it. We need you to document those damages on the shipping bills.
All other issues (Non-Freight damage) please use Warranty Claim Form and fax it to 204-779-5484.
